GARMIN ALPHA® 100 Portable GPS and tracking collar for T5 or TT15 dogs with remote training function

An indispensable tool in the field, the Garmin Alpha 100 is a portable GPS that, when combined with the T5 Tracking Collar or TT15 Remote Training Tracking Collar, will help you get the most out of your hunting dogs. It enhances Garmin's proven tracking system with features that give you greater control over your dog. The Alpha is easy to use and allows you to track your dogs in the field. It has a maximum range of 14.5 km and a dog position update rate of 2.5 seconds. With the Alpha, you can now track your hunting partners and send them predefined messages on their Alpha.

With multiple Alpha 100 handheld devices and T 5 dog devices, you can pinpoint up to 20 exact positions of dogs or hunters on a large, glove-friendly touchscreen, even when they're out of sight. And because the Alpha 100 comes with a preloaded leisure map of Europe, your surroundings will hold no secrets for you.

A new tracking category You can closely monitor each dog's speed, distance travelled and direction of travel. What's more, you'll receive notifications of the dog's actual state, such as when an animal is "stopped". A single Alpha 100 can track up to 20 dogs or hunters at distances of up to 14.5km (T 5) or 6.5km (T 5 Mini) using signals from additional Alpha 100 handheld devices, or T 5 Mini and T 5 dog devices (each sold separately).

With update rates of 2.5 seconds, the Alpha 100 means you'll never lose sight of your dogs. On the T 5/T 5 Mini, the top-mounted GPS/GLONASS antenna provides fast, reliable satellite tracking and highly accurate tracking, even in demanding environments. And because the Alpha 100 comes with a leisure map of Europe, you'll always know the areas around you. For even more detail, a free one-year subscription to BirdsEye1 satellite imagery gives you an ultra-realistic view of the terrain, including roads, waterways and forests.

Optimised tracking for small breeds (T 5 Mini only)

The T 5 Mini has been designed to be worn by the smallest dog breeds, such as Beagles and Terriers, with neck sizes ranging from 24 cm to 35.5 cm and weights between 7 kg and 15 kg. The aim behind the design of the T 5 Mini is to offer dogs maximum agility without compromising performance, by reducing the size of the device by around 30% and its weight by 25% to 198g. For optimum comfort when used in demanding hunting environments, the width of the collar has also been reduced to 1.9 cm (0.75 inch). The T 5 Mini has a battery life of up to 16-30 hours and a range of 6.5 km, making it ideal for small breeds of dog.

Enhanced control The Alpha 100 gives you absolute control over your dogs during a hunting trip. Stay in control, even if the dog leaves your field of vision. With proximity alerts and guard zones, you can monitor the dog's movements and receive notification when the animal leaves or enters a specific area. With Alpha, you can even 'talk' to your pet through vibrations or beeps on the T 5/T 5 Mini dog device. So you stay in control of the dogs you've trained.

Stay in control, even if the dog leaves your field of vision

To preserve the T 5/T 5 Mini's battery as much as possible, you can change its update rate from your Alpha handheld, so you can adapt quickly to changing hunting conditions. With the Alpha in BaseStation mode and BaseCamp (Garmin's free planning software), you can even check the position of your dogs and hunting partners from the large screen of your tablet or laptop. Another great feature is that you can start and stop the VIRB on-board camera installed on your dog with your Alpha handheld device via the T 5/T 5 mini dog device.

Enhanced security

Setting guard zones during a hunt can help you ensure that dogs stay away from dangerous areas such as roads and cliffs. With guard zones, you can create forbidden areas and set up alerts that are activated when the dog approaches them. If the dog approaches the road, you can remotely activate the LED lights on the TT 15/TT 15 Mini dog unit to improve the dog's visibility. You can also set the TT 15/TT 15 Mini to emergency mode, so that the radio automatically switches to a lower update rate if the battery drops below 25%. This gives you an extra 12 hours to search for a lost dog. In the event of danger, you can send an emergency alert to all connected Alpha devices, giving your location and telling the other members of your group to join you immediately.

Plan your next adventure with BaseCamp, Garmin's free trip planning software that lets you view and organise maps, waypoints, routes and tracks. BaseCamp displays 2D or 3D topographic map data on your computer screen, including contour lines and elevation profiles. It can also transfer a virtually unlimited amount of satellite imagery to your device if it's linked to a BirdsEye satellite imagery subscription.

Robust and durable

Garmin devices are known for their rugged, outdoor-optimised construction, and the Alpha is a perfect example. Featuring a bright 7.6 cm touchscreen that's glove-friendly and offers excellent readability day or night, the Alpha is also protected by a water-resistant casing (IPX7 rating), so there's no risk if it's accidentally submerged in water.

The T 5 / T 5 mini dog camera is particularly robust, and its materials are perfectly suited to the demands of hunting. The dog device is waterproof to 10 m (1 ATM) and comes with an extremely robust VHF antenna made of braided steel for reliable operation even in the thickest of vegetation.
