Summit's Viper Steel Self Climbing Treestand is the latest addition to the Viper series, this time with a steel construction for a lower cost of ownership.
If there's one product that represents Summit well, it's the Viper series of self-climbing treestands. The Viper Steel is the exact same legendary treestand, but as the name suggests, it's made of steel for a more affordable price. All the features that made the Viper an icon are carried over to the Steel. It offers the same ultra-quiet design, the awesomely simple and effective QuickDraw® cable attachment system, a full perimeter frame that's as convenient as ever for seated climbing or for feeling safe when shooting standing up, the famous Summit Rapid Climb Stirrups... Built to support 300 pounds, the Viper Steel weighs only 29 pounds.
While hunters agree that the Viper series is nearly perfect, we still wanted to improve a few things:
New discreet brown powder coat finish that protects the steel from rusting
New, slightly more cushioned seat for better comfort during long hunts.
Like all of Summit's self-climbing treestands, the Viper Steel includes arm guards, a quick-release strap, a safety harness, an elastic strap attachment and elastic backpack straps.

Some explanations of the technology used to manufacture the Summit treestands:
Summit's QuickDraw® Cable Retention System: An important innovation in the use of self-climbing treestands. It is the fastest and quietest cable retention system ever invented. Once the cable is sized for the diameter of the trees, all you have to do is insert the cable into the QuickDraw® bracket on the suspension arm, pull the "safety trigger" and the cable locks securely in place. Simple, no need for pins, nuts or bolts and absolutely safe and quiet hooking!!!
Summit's RapidClimb® Climbing Stirrups: They are ergonomic and adjustable to fit any shoe. Fast and incredibly easy to use, they come standard on all Summit self-climbing treestands.
